Dr. Doug Mason
Dr. Mason received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 1984 and 3 years later returned to complete a 2-year post graduate diploma course in Dental Anaesthesia. The following year, he successfully passed the optional Fellowship Board Exam held by the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
In 2008, Dr. Mason became duly registered as a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) and received his Specialty Certificate in Dental Anaesthesia.
Dr. Mason remains a member in good standing with the RCSDO, The Canadian Dental Association, The Ontario Dental Association, The National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, The Canadian Academy of Dental Anaesthesia and The Ontario Dental Society of Anaesthesia.
He continues to receive ongoing education not only in regards to dental anaesthesia, but all aspects of dental care and treatment. He is a long standing member of the Thunder Bay Dental Study Club and routinely exceeds the mandatory level of continuing education as required by the RCDSO to maintain licensure.
Dr. Matylda Jasic
Dr. Matylda Jasic graduated with Honours from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto in 2012. Prior to enrolling in dental school, she studied Life Sciences and received an Honours Bachelor of Sciences with High Distinction in 2005.
Dr. Jasic was born in Poland. She moved to Toronto as a child and moved to Thunder Bay in 2012.
She enjoys meeting new patients and is sure to address and discuss any questions or concerns they may have. She hopes to make them feel comfortable and at ease during their dental treatment.
In her free time Dr. Jasic enjoys reading, gardening and skating.
Marianne has been part of our Current River Dental hygiene department since 1993. She is a graduate of Confederation College Dental Hygiene Program, Deans List. Marianne is a member of the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Hygiene Association, the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association and the Thunder Bay Dental Hygiene Association.
Patients appreciate and respect her dedication to detail and to providing the time to answer their questions and concerns.
She strives to understand patient needs so she may provide you with as much information as possible and help educate you on oral health.
Away from work her family is foremost. She has a love of the outdoors which includes long walks, camping, fishing, and cross country skiing. She also enjoys relaxing with a good book.
Michelle has been with Current River Dental since 2000. She began her career here as a dental assistant and then returned to Confederation College to obtain her Dental Hygiene Diploma.
Michelle is a member of the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario and the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association.
Outside the office, Michelle enjoys spending time with family, friends and reading.
Sue has been with Current River Dental since the beginning. Sue has over 30 years’ experience as a Certified Dental Assistant, Front Desk Administrator, Registered Dental Hygienist and Office Manager. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the dental team.
Sue continually strives to enhance the quality of Current River Dental, providing continuing education for the staff and herself.
Her caring and professional nature is contagious throughout our office.
Jen is a graduate of the Dental Assisting program at Confederation College in 2004 and began her career here at that time.
Jen has been Dr. Mason's assistant since 2009, aiding in the sedation appointments for both children and adults. She is caring and patient with the anxieties that are presented in our dental chair.
As a mother of 2 children, she is busy with their lives and activities. When she does have spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends going camping and travelling.
Rita graduated from Confederation College as a Certified Dental Assistant in 1992. After working full time as a chairside assistant she returned to Confederation College and received her level II certification. She has been with our team since 2007.
Rita worked as a full-time assistant in multiple general and specialty practices for 13 years prior to joining our team. Maintaining her certification and continuing her education is a passion of hers.
Rita enjoys meeting and talking to patients regarding their treatment, providing support where needed. Patients appreciate the extra time taken when explaining diagnosed treatment, fees, dental benefits and answering any questions and concerns they might have.
Carrie has been with Current River Dental since 2002. Carrie earned her Dental Assisting Certificate from Confederation College in 2001.
Her friendly smile and personality is a perfect fit with the team. She manages patient concerns quickly and efficiently. She brings many years of invaluable experience to the front end of the office.
Outside of her time at work, Carrie enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 beautiful daughters.
Nancy has been a part of the dynamic Current River Dental team since December 2006.
Nancy complements our friendly and supportive administrative staff. She handles patients’ questions, schedules appointments, and manages financial matters with professionalism and ease.
Aside from her time at the office, she is a dedicated mother and grandmother and devotes her time to her family.
Business Assistant, Hygiene Coordinator
Vicki has been part of our team since 2014. She takes care of scheduling hygiene visits and caring for our patients on the front desk. Vicki is a great asset to our business team!
In her time away from the office, she enjoys spending time at the lake with her daughter and husband.
Darlene is a Registered Nurse who has been a part of the Current River Dental team since 2002.
She has various work experiences within hospital settings as well as within the community.
Julijana (pronounced Juliana) is a wonderful addition to our team; here since 2015, she brings many years of nursing experience to our office. She works at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre when she is not with us.
Outside of her working time, she likes spending time with her 2 children and husband.
